Mites to Midgets

Rampage families join with thousands celebrating 4th of July in Monument

With the Monument, CO downtown streets lined with over 8,000 area residents watching the annual 4th of July parade, the Colorado Rampage players and families were able to connect with the spectators and let them meet our great group of athletes and parents, as well as let them know of our club by being part of the local community celebration.

Rampage players passed out over 4000 frozen Power Ice and Sport Authority discount coupons to spectators along the route. With the temperatures reaching upwards to the 90s, and the Rampage team being towards the back of the parade line, the ice cold Power Ice pops were a welcome refreshment to spectators.

From Mites to U18 AAA, the many Rampage players who participated were roller blading, stick-handling and walking, in blue and white Rampage jerseys and with great enthusiasm to bring a smile to a youngster or spectator as they grabbed fistfuls of Power Ice and discount cards to give out along the way.

The Rampage group assembled at the Colorado Sports Center early on Friday morning to decorated the Rampage van in a little red, white and blue spirit while enjoying some refreshments, home made baked goods and snacks, and working on their stick handling in a massive group passing activity as they patiently waited for the parade assembly to begin along the Old Denver Highway.  As the parade started, the players all were out along the route with big smiles and great Rampage team spirit.

Many thanks to the parents who also participated in the festivities, walked in the parade, brought snacks and drinks, took pictures, drove the van, and helped organize.

Special thanks to the Jody and Steve Patten for providing the Power Ice, and CAHA/Sports Authority for the discount coupon cards.  They were both a hit!  And thanks to the Lupo's and Neubauers for their support and providing us with photos of the event.

And a great big Thank You to all the players and families who participated.  It was a fun day for the Rampage family and we hope more of our group will join us again next year!
