Former Boston College star and USA Hockey ADM Manager named as Rampage Squirt Coordinator

Always looking to put together the best and most experienced coaches for our athletes, the Colorado Rampage would like to announce the appointment of Ty Hennes as the new Squirt Age-Group Coordinator.

Hennes is currently with USA Hockey as a Regional Manager of the American Development Model.  This program emphasizes ensuring that each club surrounds the athletes with quality coaches and coordinators to ensure the best development practices and environment.  Ty oversees numerous clubs implementing the ADM model and will bring his insight and experience to our program.  Our Squirts are a key age-group that will excel with the experience Ty and the Squirt coaching staff bring and implement on the ice.  Ty will coordinate all practice plans and guide the Squirt teams and coaching staff with focus on skill development and encouraging a high-paced, fun and developing environment.

"We are fortunate to have such a great local resource available to join our club for the benefit of our athletes.  With Ty joining the Rampage coaching staff, we add to our line-up not only great hockey playing and coaching experience, but also his insight and understanding of implementing the best practices for hockey development." exclaims Pat Bingham, President of Colorado Rampage Hockey.

Hennes did his undergraduate work at Boston College where he starred on the ice for the Boston College Eagles, helping the squad to the 2001 NCAA title in his role as an alternate captain. During his four years with BC, they reached the NCAA tournament three times, including two Frozen Four appearances.  After graduating from BC in 2004, Hennes signed a professional contract in the Detroit Red Wings organization and played through the 2007-08 season.  He spent two seasons playing for the United States Hockey League’s Omaha Lancers where he served as team captain during his last year in Omaha.  He has also coached youth hockey for over 10 years and has taken 7 teams to the USA Hockey National Championship tournament.
