HEAD COACH: JJ CREW

Born and raised in Southern California, JJ began his hockey career at the age of nine. This included playing both ice and roller hockey. At the age of 16, JJ moved to Colorado in order to pursue better hockey opportunities. While in Colorado, he played for the Colorado Rampage Midget Major AAA team, and completed his last two years of high school in the area. In his last year in Colorado, he was fortunate to be a draft pick of the Lincoln Stars in the USHL.

After spending a year in Lincoln, JJ was offered a scholarship to play Division 1 hockey at Western Michigan University of the CCHA. During his 15 years of playing hockey, he accomplished the following: 2 state championships, a regional championship, a CCHA championship, and 2 NCAA regional bids. During this time frame, JJ was fortunate to have been able to play for a variety of coaches such as Andy Murray, Jeff Blashill, and Jim Culhane whom he had tremendous respect for.

The past two years, Coach Crew was an assistant coach of the Hampton Roads Junior Whalers of the USPHL in Chesapeake Virginia.

“I’m excited and thankful for being selected to head coach the Colorado Rampage Junior A team as we embark on the inaugural season of the Rocky Mountain Junior A Hockey League. I look forward to instilling the lessons I have learned, throughout my playing and brief coaching career, to the young men I will be working with. It feels good coming back to Colorado Springs and being reunited with Andrew Sherman and the Rampage organization.” - JJ Crew.
