Meet the Colorado Rampage Players of the Week for Oct. 5, 2015

Pee Wee - Brennen Morgan

Bantam - Cullen Simpson

(players of the week for Squirt and Mites will start soon now that teams are being formed)

Player of the Week - 12U Pee Wee

BRENNEN MORGAN - 12U/PeeWee A Team

Brennen plays the game fast. He is a hard worker that is fearless and competes every shift. He likes to pressure the puck and creates a lot of turnovers. He is reliable and always gives his best effort. This past weekend Brennan was a force against CASAHA and Arapahoe, winning battles all over the ice. He is a great teammate and is always smiling.

Grade and School: 5th Grade at Howbert Elementary

Favorite NHL team and player(s): Chicago Blackhawks, Patrick Kane and Pavel Datsyuk

Favorite Song: Know your Enemy by Rage Against the Machines

Siblings: 3…Cheyenne, Josh, Hayden, 13, 8, and 11 months.

Favorite thing outside of hockey: Enjoys spending time with teammates and friends outside of the rink.  Also takes great pride in being a big brother and spends a large amount of his spare time hanging out with his brother Joshua, and plays a major roll in helping out with his baby brother Hayden.

Favorite thing about hockey:  From the moment he walks into the rink Brennen relishes every aspect of the game.  From putting on his gear to the feeling of the ice underneath him (and yes, even the smell of the rink), Brennen has a profound love for the speed and intensity that goes into every second he is on the ice.  Putting it simply, Brennen says “that playing hockey is like coming home,” and the proof is he plays the game like he lives his life…all heart!

Player of the Week - 14U Bantam

CULLEN SIMPSON - 14U Bantam B

Cullen Simpson spent the week of practice putting in the extra effort that is needed to get better on the ice. During the games this weekend, he showed the benefits of his hard work with an outstanding game on Saturday. Even though he was held off the score sheet, he was a major factor in the win with his team play and he generated many scoring chances for himself and his team mates. On Sunday, however he finally broke through and scored a great rebound goal half way through the 3rd period to break the deadlock. After scoring the go-ahead goal, Cullen worked extremely hard to make sure it would hold up as the game winner by helping kill off two penalties. He showed great character this weekend not getting frustrated or down on himself when he wasn’t capitalizing on some of the chances he had. Cullen shook it off and went out for the next shift even hungrier.

School/Grade: Lewis Palmer Middle School, 8th Grade
Favorite NHL team: Boston Bruins
What he likes most about hockey: Being part of a team, speed of the game, having to think "on your feet" in order to beat your opponents.
Favorite video game: Grand Theft Auto
What he does outside of hockey: Listen to music, hang out with his younger brother and his billet brother; play football, and spend time with his friends
Sibling: Kael (10 years old)
