Grant Arnold is a leader, and like all strong leaders, he leads by example. Grant wears the captain's "C" for the Frozen Four bound Denver Pioneerstheir first Frozen Four appearance since 2012. Of the 4 years Grant has been at Denver University, he has worn the "C" for the last 2. In an article recently written by The Denver Post, Denver Pioneers head coach, Jim Montgomory, goes on to talk about how powerful those leadership skills are, naming Grant an unofficial player-coach.

Values Grant developed when playing with the '08-'09 U18 Rampage, helped propel him to the USHL where he played for the Green Bay Gamblers. With Green Bay, Grant utilized his 6'1" 215lb frame and his high character to win 2 Clark Cup Championships. In his time with the Gamblers, DU took major interest in the Centennial, CO born power-forward, who had put up a solid 49 points in 138 games and a telling +22 in 3 seasons. During the '10-'11 season, DU committed to Grant. The next season he wore the "C" for Green Bay, leading his team to their second Clark Cup Championship in 3 years, and propelling Grant into his first year of Division 1 hockey. Playing 35 games for the Pioneers as a Freshman, Grant's composure on every inch of the ice helped him continue to play high minutes for DU. Grant's leadership skills on and off the ice have helped the Pioneers come a long way in the 4 years he has spent putting on the gold and maroon. Utilizing his playoff experience with the Gamblers, the values he learned with the Rampage, and his high character and competitive spirit, Grant will lead the Pioneers into the Frozen Four.
