Rampage welcome two new coaches!

The Colorado Rampage welcome two new coaches, Luke Fulghum and Clint Elberts to the club's coaching staff.

Luke Fulghum to head Rampage 16U programs

The Colorado Rampage are proud to announce the addition of Coach Luke Fulghum to the Rampage coaching staff.  Fulghum will serve as head coach for the Rampage Tier 1 16U AAA National and 16U American team.
 
"We are proud to have Luke join the Rampage staff.  His experience as a player and coach will be an great asset to all our programs.   He knows the development process and has the knowledge required to grow our 16U players." remarked Hockey Director/President Pat Bingham.  
 
A native of Colorado Springs, Luke grew up playing his minor hockey in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After Midgets, he spent 3 years in the USHL with the Waterloo Blackhawks and Dubuque Fighting Saints.

Luke returned to Colorado to play college hockey at the University of Denver. Luke earned 105 points in 161 games with 53 goals and 52 assists in 4 years at Denver. Luke is 5th all-time in games played and 7th All-time in Game winning goals at DU. Luke was part of the back-to-back NCAA Championship teams in his Junior and Senior seasons in 2004 and 2005.      


After his College career Luke signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Although never making it to the NHL, he spent 3 seasons in the AHL and ECHL. Luke then made the jump to Europe playing for Turku TPS in the Finnish top league SM Liiga. After Finland he spent four seasons in the top League in the United Kingdom (EIHL). In his second season he was league MVP and the league's top goal scorer with the Coventry Blaze, who also won the league title that season.
 
After 4 years in Europe, Fulghum returned home to Colorado play for the Denver Cutthroats of the CHL as player/assistant coach. In his final season as a player, he was 2nd on his team in goals for the Colorado Eagles of the ECHL.

In his 10 year pro career, Fulghum 520 points in 540 games with 257 goals and 263 assists. In 2014, Luke was inducted into the University of Denver's Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the 2004 NCAA Championship Team.
 
Luke's passion and integrity for the game is unwavering. He has been teaching/coaching youth hockey for over a decade,ever since his college days at DU.

My dedication and passion for this game is immense and I am fortunate to continue to have the opportunity to work with such great coaches and aspiring student athletes", comments Fulghum of his new opportunity.
 
Luke has a BSBA degree in Real Estate and Construction Management from the University of Denver and an MBA in International Sports Management from Coventry University in the United Kingdom.  Luke lives in Colorado Springs with his wife Sasha, three young kids - Leighton (4), Irelyn (3) and Locklyn (1), and their dogs, Harper and Copey.

Clint Elberts joins Rampage Coaching Staff
    

The Colorado Rampage welcome coach Clint Elberts to the Rampage coaching staff.  Elberts will work with the Rampage Jrs. 20U team, and the Tier 1 18U and 16U teams.

 

"Clint brings to the Rampage a keen sense of coaching goalies, recruiting and experience with teams in the Tier 1 Elite League.", remarks Rampage Director, Andrew Sherman. "He has incredible experience and methods in coaching goaltending and overall player development on and off the ice."

Clint grew up and played his youth hockey in Lakeville, MN and in Oregon, before moving to Kansas City.

Elberts has been a professional goalie coach since 2004. He started with the Omaha Lancers and Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL and then became a coach with the KC Mavericks Elite Program (formerly Russell Stovers AAA Hockey) which plays in the Tier I Elite Hockey League.

Coach Elberts is also the owner & operator of The Hockey Center, the Mavs' Elite exclusive training center. He is a level 4 USA Hockey certified coach, who participates every summer at the USA Select National Camps held in Rochester, NY.

Coach Elberts is a proud member of the Goaltending Consultant Group (GCG) which is a select group of goaltending coaches from around the world who focus on bringing together top coaches, ideas, training programs and creating experiences for goalie development.

Elberts also travels to Finland each summer to work in the GoaliePro's Elite Camps. He has a chance to work with Jukka Ropponen, who is the most revered goalie coach in Finland.

Coach Elberts has been instrumental in developing the following goalies in the Maverick's Elite  AAA program:
