The Colorado Rampage are proud to announce their 2016-2017 Travel coaches for the Bantam and Peewee age groups. All age group coaches will regularly attend every practice and work with all players on the ice to offer the best training opportunities.
Bantam
Joey Carroll
Bantam AA Head Coach, Bantam Age Coordinator

COACH CARROLL: Carroll grew up in the New Mexico and recently relocated to the Colorado Springs areas to coach the 2015-16 Colorado Rampage 16U American AAA and 14U AA & B teams. USA Hockey Level 4. He previously spent 6 seasons in Albuquerque coaching at the Squirt to Midget Minor levels. Carroll was also assistant coach for the New Mexico Renegades of the WSHL Junior A league. In New Mexico, Coach Carroll created of New Mexico's Warrior Hockey Academy, a company that conducts hockey specific training experiences such as camps, clinics and lessons since 2011. He also helped manifest and direct New Mexico's Tier 2 competitive association, NMRHC. Carroll played competitive hockey for over 12 years, finishing his career playing Junior A for the Colorado Outlaws in Denver, CO.
Matt Henderson

COACH HENDERSON: Hails from Bloomington, IN where He played 4 seasons of varsity high-school hockey for the Bloomington Blades then 1 season of Junior hockey for the Cleveland Lumberjacks of the CSHL. Following Jr's he returned home to attend Indiana University to earn a degree in Business Management while playing 5 seasons of ACHA D2 Hockey for the Hooosiers. His senior season he was selected as a 1st team all Southeast Region and an All American Honorable Mention Defensmen. Henderson coached 1 year of peewee hockey for the Evanston IL Wildcats winning a state championship in 2010 and last coached 1 season for Loyala Academy in Chicago IL. He works in the Third Party Logistics Industry and currently resides in Denver, CO. His younger Brother Michael Henderson is a 2008 Rampage Alumni!
George Pagonis

COACH PAGONIS: Born in new Jersey, played youth hockey at Littleton and Colorado thunderbirds, been to nationals 3 times won 1. Played Rampage2009-2010 for Coach Andrew Sherman and in 2009 went to the national player development camp in New York. Played Juniors with Missoula maulers (AWHL) and Witchita Falls (NAHL). Currently enrolled at UCCS, studying business administration and finance. George is extremely grateful and excited to be a part of the Colorado Rampage organization again, in a new roll. He is ready to help develop players and get them to the next level.

COACH SHERMAN: Native of Schenectady, NY. USA Hockey Level 5, USA Hockey Regional scout and district coach. Played collegiate hockey with Rochester Institute of Technology, captain his senior year. Graduated with degree in Business Mgmt. Became certified NHL player agent from 1998-2003. Coached for 17 years, professionally and with Tier 1 U18 for past 9 years with 6 championships to his team’s credit. Has developed, counseled and guided many young players through the Tier 1 and recruiting process, including numerous Rampage alumni who are now earning spots with semi-pro programs and at NHL camps.
Colin Martel

COACH MARTEL: USA Hockey Level 4. After graduating from Pine Creek High School in Colorado Springs, Colin graduated with a Bachelor of Sports and Leisure with a minor in Ice Hockey Coaching from the Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, Vierumäki Unit, in Finland. Colin has had numerous coaching assignments including most recently as an assistant coach for Pine Creek High School and as a stick-handling coach in the CSAHA program. Previously, Martel was an assistant coach and video coach for the Vierumäki A-Juniors of the Finland 3 League, and intern coach and video coach for the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the USHL.
Riese Niehaus
Peewee B Head Coach; Associate Peewee A/AA/AAA Coach

COACH NIEHAUS: A native of Boulder, CO, Niehaus grew up and played youth hockey as a goaltender. He is USA Hockey Level 4 certified coach. Niehaus played 16U AAA in California before playing Junior hockey for 2 years. He received a career altering injury and decided instead to pursue his passion for teaching and coaching. Niehaus came back to Colorado where he began his coaching career. He has coached both travel and high-school hockey in the Northern Colorado area, where he coached Bantam and Midget levels for 6 seasons, including doing private lessons and camps with goaltenders ranging from squirts to 18u AAA and Junior A. Since 2014, Coach Niehaus has been with the Rampage programs in many capacities including as Goalie Coach and assistant coach with the Rampage 16U National and 18U programs.
